Greg Sherman
Principal and Cofounder
Greg is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the multifamily real estate industry. He has a passion for sustainability and is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world by protecting the environment from the effects of climate change.
Throughout his career, Greg has collaborated with multifamily real estate owners to help them improve their buildings, reduce utility expenses, lower maintenance costs, increase occupant comfort, and reduce carbon emissions. With his deep knowledge of building science and energy efficiency, Greg provides expert guidance to his clients. Greg's main focus is on existing buildings, and he has helped numerous real estate professionals reduce their annual energy and water consumption with simple and cost-effective energy and water management principles. His work has contributed significantly to the sustainable transformation of the industry.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Greg is an enthusiastic traveler who loves immersing himself in nature through backpacking trips in the wilderness. He is also a proud father and husband, finding fulfillment in his family life.

Andy McNamara
Principal and Cofounder
Andy is passionate about helping real estate owners successfully navigate the transition to zero carbon buildings. And he is realistic - what he’s learned after retrofitting over 20,000 units across more than 400 multifamily properties is that every property has unique challenges and that real-estate owners are insanely busy. Andy co-founded Carbon Zero Buildings to drive projects that deliver double-bottom-line client savings: economic value creation and carbon elimination.
Andy’s team sweats the details: driving high-performing project strategy and execution including technical design, incentive procurement, and turnkey construction of energy efficiency, solar power and electrification initiatives for multi-family real estate properties across California.
As an early leader in bringing building electrification technologies to multifamily buildings, Andy’s teams have retrofitted over 2,500 multifamily units with electrification technologies since 2017.
Andy holds our California Contractor's License and is an AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) as well as a LEED AP.
In his free time you’ll find Andy spending time with friends and family and coaching his son’s soccer team. Andy enjoys the great outdoors on both coasts: he’s an Adirondack 46er but today you’re more likely to find him exploring trails in the East Bay Hills and backpacking California’s beautiful Sierras. At his core, Andy is driven by creating a better world locally for his two children and globally all children on this planet who deserve the best planet we can give to them.
